On 16 December 2025, SMK Agama Miri visited CSL Miri for the second time this year. This continued partnership demonstrates how effective the lab facilities are for hands-on learning and shows their value for other schools in the future.

The National Planetarium, under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development (MEITD) Sarawak, proudly presented the Jelajah Astronomi Program in Lundu (9 October) and Serian (13 October) 2025.

This program aimed to inspire students and the public through engaging astronomy and STEM activities, featuring:

  • Solar observation and astronomy demonstrations
  • Mini planetarium sessions
  • Hands-on science experiments
  • MySains Pavilion exhibitions

We reflected on this exciting journey that ignited curiosity, explored innovation, and discovered the wonders of the universe!

Sarawak Science Centre (SSCiEX) joined the Program 3L – Lifelong Learning at Dewan Serbaguna, Kampung Bunuk, Padawan on 27 September 2025. The team from Corporate Communication, Science Communication, Technical, and Logistics supported the outreach, offering interactive activities that encouraged interest in science and technology. The programme highlights SSCiEX commitment to making science accessible and engaging for the community.

The Sarawak Science Centre (SSCiEX) hosted YB Dato Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn, Minister for Education and Talent Development Sarawak, for an official site visit. The tour showcased ongoing development as SSCiEX prepares to become a hub for science, innovation, and education. Joined by Board Director Datu Haji Azmi Bin Haji Bujang and ministry representatives, the visit highlighted the shared commitment to advancing science and talent in the state. The Centre is on track to open to the public in early 2026.

Minggu Sains Negara 2025 and Kembara Sains Borneo (KSB) 2025 returned with a full slate of science activities across Sarawak. The first event, held from 3 to 5 May at Dewan Jubli, UiTM Kota Samarahan, featured exhibits, hands-on activities, and teacher workshops organized by MOSTI and MEITD. Sarawak Science Centre (SSCiEX) participated as a key partner alongside national science agencies.

KSB 2025 continued the momentum from 7 to 20 May, reaching 14 schools across the region. While SSCiEX supported the STEM Catalyst Programme, the team also joined KSB at SMK Wira Penrissen, SK Muara Tuang, and SK Sri Gedong. The initiative continues to bring engaging science experiences to schools and communities across Borneo.

On 28 February 2025, YB Dato Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn, Minister of Education, Innovation, and Talent Development, visited the Common Science Lab at the Sarawak Biovalley Pilot Plant in Miri. Managed by the Sarawak Science Centre, the lab supports STEM learning for Miri schools and is planned to expand statewide.

The delegation viewed the newly renovated facilities and a mini exhibition showcasing the future gallery at the Pilot Plant. The visit ended with discussions on the lab’s upcoming launch and its role in strengthening STEM education in the local community.

The Sarawak Science Centre, together with Sarawak Skills and MEITD, introduced the STEM Catalysts Program at SK Merdang, Samarahan. The session featured mobile exhibits on hydrogen fuel and solar energy developed by the Centre’s Designs unit, giving students hands-on exposure to renewable energy concepts. The initiative supports Sarawak’s goal of nurturing innovation, critical thinking, and interest in STEM among young learners.
